JEFF SMITH

Founder

Jeff Smith

Jeff Smith

A graduate of Colorado State University and a banker by profession, Jeff Smith began his career in banking, eventually earning the title of Executive Vice President at Western National Bank in Colorado Springs.

In 1989 Jeff left the banking industry to purchase interests in a small local homebuilding company. Over the past three decades, that small homebuilding company grew into a vertically integrated real estate company to include: land development, golf course and country club development, engineering and surveying, in addition to homebuilding.

Some of Classic’s flagship community development projects include Flying Horse, The Club at Flying Horse, Sanctuary Pointe, Forest Lakes, University Park, and Indigo Ranch, just to name a few. Today, Classic Homes is El Paso County’s largest privately owned homebuilding company.

Credit for Classic’s consistent growth goes largely to Jeff’s spirited leadership. He constantly challenges and motivates members of the Classic team to define, plan and reach their goals. In addition to his leadership role at Classic Companies, Jeff is an active supporter of community-minded projects through various professional and personal philanthropic endeavors.

From 1981 when we moved to Denver from Connecticut, I have been involved with Community Bible Study (CBS) in some way. In the beginning as a student with this in depth non-denominational bible study which began to transform my life from a world view of living to a Plan of life of God. In the years following , He allowed me to serve as Area Director, Regional Director, and as Assistant Day Director of the Western States. What a privilege! In that time, we moved to Colorado Springs, my hometown, in 1994 and God opened my heart to the needs of foster adoption care through an agency here in town where I served on the Board and Chaired for many years.

It was a blessing to be asked to be a part of Flying Horse Foundation as it launched this program for Equine Assisted Learning for the wounded kids in our area, gifts and tools of love for the hurting and wounded! May God bless and grow this endeavor!
